Roddick a dissapointment? Come on, he lost to an inspired rising star that then made the final.

In my way of thinking, Hewitt is a major disappointment: he lost a routine match against an average player. Remember that before the Aus Open, Hewitt had lost to the eventual champion in the 7 last slams he contested.

Yeah, but Hewitt had a lot of things he could hold up as an excuse for losing early.

Roddick was supposedly playing well coming into Melbourne, having won the Kooyang exhibition, and everything felt he was a gimme pick for the final. True, it turned out to be a "better" loss once Baghdatis reached the final, but Roddick still should have at least put up a better fight in their match than he did if he's truly the #3 player in the world. With Federer's career going the way it is, Roddick's looking more and more like a one-slam-title-in-a-career bet all the time, unless he makes some changes that make him a legit slam threat again (even if it's only at Flushing Meadows).
